Interested to see what the (not in service yet) CAT 111C actually does?. About Autoland, there are four buttens for the autopiot command, CMD A, CMD B and if I am not. however when I am locked onto the VOR then switch to APP. FLIGHT CONTROLS CHECKED CLEAR AUTOLAND ARMED AS NECESSARY.
#PMDG 737 AUTOLAND FULL#
The lower minimum CAT 111B requiring full landing and roll-out. I can do an autoland no problem, which are great fun in low vis conditions. Checklist Boeing 737 / 600-700-800-900 The Next Generatiom PMDG. even the CAT 111A needs a full landing (including flare) if I am reading the doc below correctly. so for example are you saying they don't permit automated ILS CAT 111B type landings?.

There might be countries that don't allow it, or don't have the equipment, but there are clearly airlines and pilots performing these landings. The FMC/autopilot system does the flying, even including an autoland. So no offence or slight intended - especially as you are the type of guy that I will be looking for answers from in the very near future :-) AVSIM PMDG NG Review AVSIM Commercial Aircraft Package Review PMDG 737: THE NEXT. I understand that the Steam Addon C-17 Globemaster is supposed to have it but I've seen very bad reviews for this addon, most people having issues with the autopilot not working. That's simply not the case and why I asked you to clarify it. Hey folks, does anyone here know of any addon aircraft that have the autoland function on them I'm really interested to see what it's like to land a plane with this feature.

No what you said initially (and you never specified a region) was that 'any' aircraft that uses autolanding releases control for the last 200ft. aircraft may be capable but the pilot in command is required to be hands on during landing.Īnd I mentioned the FAA, not European flight rules. When the Radio Alt comes to 40ft AGL (approx), idle the throttles so the aircraft will bleed off the extra 5 kts, and shortly after the autopilot should touchdown the plane, and start braking. Are you sure with these modern airliners?. When you are at 100ft AGL (above ground level), disable the autothrottle (leave the rest of the autopilot on). Set speed to VREF+5, allowing enough time for the aircraft to slow down to this before reaching the runway To confirm this, look above the ND, it should say 'Flare' under GS Boeing 737 has a fail operational autoland mode with just 2 autopilots. Many regional routes or between smaller airports have been considered the first to be gone. This mean that it will follow the approach and it will land. A fail operational automatic flight control system with automatic landing which. Smaller regional airplanes should replace bigger Boeing 737 High fuel price is damaging everything, but when it comes to airlines, high fuel price is a massive blow. This means that the aircraft will follow the glideslope and localizer but will not land for youĪround halfway through the approach, the GS and Localizer needles should flash yellow and Single CH should disappear.

Put the ILS heading into the CRS window and the HDG window (putting it into the HDG is not necessary but good to do just in case, you will have the line on the ND to give you a rough guide) As I don't use autoland often, sorry if any of this information is incorrectįor autoland, when descending, put the ILS frequency into both the NAV1 and NAV2 radios, hit the test button to make sure its working
#PMDG 737 AUTOLAND HOW TO#
I don't normally use autoland, but this is my understanding of how to do it. So if the VREF Speed is 127kts, put 132kts into the MCP Put the selected VREF speed for 30' of flaps into the MCP Speed window (sorry for lack of better word) and add on 5 You will get the VREF speed off the Approach page of the FMC
